Music Ideas

At this stage I do not have a clear idea on the music I want to use in the film but I have a few ideas on elements I want it to include.

Pace
This is something I am unsure of currently, a slow pace works to set a darker mood which I kind of want but a faster pace would create a more unnerving effect which I an more drawn towards. I think perhaps a mix of the two could work well throughout the piece.

Instruments
Piano always works well for film so I am drawn to having it in the mix but I do not want it to be the main sound, more in the background. Also I do not want single notes, I want a more complex piece. I'm not sure if it will be a constant elements or just come in at certain points. I like the little elements of piano throughout Pink's Try (below) the way it comes in at certain points but not as simple and subtle like in Lifehouse's Everything (below)

Violin also works well but I think this would be better as single, crisp chords to add to the unnerving aspect. This will come in at points so will not be a constant element, it will come in in accordance to certain scenes in the film. Along the lines of the very beginning of Vivaldi's Winter piece (below) and in Pink's Sober song at 2:33 (below).

Drums and guitar I am very unsure of, I can't imagine how it would work in my head but I am open to the idea of it, in a more subtle sense.

I have this idea that whispered words would work well for explaining parts of the film, just single words to get the audience thinking as opposed to explaining the whole story. Overall I want it to be quite subtle but guide the audiences emotions through the film but not manipulate them completely, the words should be the most important part. The piece won't be cheerful sounding but I don't want it to sound depressive either.
